Athletes from 21 CANOC member National Olympic Committees are currently in Miami attending the Inaugural Pan American Sports Organisation (PASO) Athletes Forum organised by the Athletes Commission of PASO, chaired by Alexandra Orlando, in collaboration with the United States Olympic Committee.

Athletes from Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Haiti, Surinam, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and the US Virgin Islands, join their counterparts from the Americas for two days of intense discussions and analyses of the status of athletes in the continent, ways in which they can play a major role in the development of the athletes of the continent as well as engage in shaping the future of PASO.

Among the topics are: Best Practices for Building an Effective Athletes’ Commission, Current Global and Regional Athletes’ Issues, Leadership, The Athletes Hub and Athletes Learning Gateway, What means the most to athletes in the Americas? What should the PASO AC focus on, Health Safety and Security of Athletes; Athlete Medical Services and Athlete Career Programme.

The Forum would close with the presentation of the Findings and Recommendations to the PASO Executive.
