Nyla Kerr produced a golden run for Trinidad and Tobago on the opening day of the 2026 Carifta Games at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium here in St George’s, Grenada, yesterday.

Kerr returned a time of four minutes, 43.61 seconds in the girls’ under-17 1500 metres to dethrone her teammate Oshea Cummings, the 2025 champion getting home in 4:44.24 for a one-two T&T finish. Grenada’s Annalisa Brown got bronze in 4:46.00.
